I can't get fastboot to work anymore. I am running this image. Is it an option i need to turn on. I noticed that the vendor id for the usb in fastboot mode is different than the LG one, Am i seeing this right?

Hi, I need to change 3G to 2G, but in this version 1.6 the menu is not visible. 

Can change this ?

The GPS doesn't work in this firmware.

Is that a familiar problem or is it just me? 

Is there anything I can do about it? I am thinking of installing the 2.1 firmware unless this problem is fixable.

My phone is a kh5200( im in korea) and ive tried to root my phone but it says enter password in the enable root permission in the hidden menu do i need to root my phone to run this or the2.1?

The 1.6 image is great, I love it! I love my phone now except for two things,

1. On Rogers, I guess they signed me up to get named caller id for people not in my contact list, I get weird latin characters namely "oàværñoÜZ" instead of a name or Unknown even.

2. Sending SMS in arabic or even arabic and english mixed arrives in weird latin carachters (the entire message, even the english parts are busted) at the recepient side (I haven't tried sending arabic sms with my stock 10c or even the 10f 1.5 images, I might try when I get a chance and report back)

Anybody else getting these, or knows anything about them?

I have been running your 1.5 image for a while, but I have been having some problems. I decided to try the 1.6 but unfortunatly I have kernel panics now. I tried both 'V10T' and 'Eve16v2', both won't work.

Do you know what I might have done wrong? Could it be related to my fastboot version?

P.s. : I think you're on mac too - Do you get OSX kernel panics when you run fastboot? For some reason, OSX craches when it's been running for a while and I try to run fastboot... !

I have htc legend with custom rom and lggw620.i manage to root legend[2.1]but for lg fastboot is not there.i am suppressed ,i think its due to my software version gw620-v10k.could u tell me a possible way to put your rom...thank god lg's rooting method is simple not like htc its tough and i made it.....could you help me....i have neccessary softwares for flashing and i am using wnd7...or give me link of firmware having fastboot accessible.......please help me.....i am waiting for your comment.......

Hi, got this all installed and its fantastic, only issue im having is the fact i cant seem to turn sms delivery reports on, is this due to the fact its a korean build or is it just in a different menu?

Delivery reports are quite important to me on a phone as T-Mobile UK suck with their SMS services I have found

I've just flashed the 1.6 rom and I had done a fastboot -w before the flash as well as another factory reset after the flash (just to be sure).

I've enabled root permissions but somehow I can't abd.

In Ubuntu 10.04, when I tried to sudo adb devices, I get nothing.

Can you kindly advise?

Hi Zac, thanks for the guide on  rooting the Eve. it allowed to me flash toleROM's 1.5 image. I'd like to start customizing my own image, but at the moment, when i unyaffs toleROM's system image, make changes and then repack it using mkyaffs2 in ubuntu 10.04, the unyaffs tool has some issues and can corrupt file permissions so wireless settings isn't available in the menu. could you please tell me how you extract the system.img to make changes to it?

Nice work Zac. I've got the 1.6 ROM installed now, running like a dream, albeit a dream without GPS.

Definitely faster than 1.5, and autosyncing e-mail works!

Just a shame that Navigate doesn't seem to work atm.. Will check again when out in the car...

[EDIT] GPS works fine - takes a while to "lock-on" but does work - not as long as my "Foehn & Hirsch" SatNave though!

Thanks for the work. I'm running 1.6 and loving it. Did I miss something or is the gps not functional. When I start something that uses gps it looks like it will work but it says location not available. I'm in Toronto.

Hey Zac, I just installed your 1.6 image on my Rogers Eve.

Fastboot worked fine, both boot and system.img's installed OK.

However, when I switch on for the first time, Android doesn't boot. I see the HHGTTG "Dont Panic" pic, then the Android animated logo, and then the screen goes black. The phone is still on as I can see the LCD light on the screen edges.

Any idea on what's going on?

How to move preinstall app to sdcard

I run your gorgeus rom for my eve, mostly I like some preinstall app,but its cost much. I wondering if I can move the app into my sdcard like app2sd has do,can i?

hello, is there any way to configure sms to send 150 or 160 characters. I've installed the rom but when i write more than 80 characters it automatically convert the SMS to MMS. I've tried deleting mms.apk from the rom and installing handcent sms but this program split the sms in two. Is better but it sends two sms.

I hope you can help me and sorry for my english.

Try doing a "adb shell" then "rm /data/dalvik-cache/*" and rebooting. You may still be using the cached copy of xim.apk.

thanks for your answer! i've downloaded unyaffs, and extract my nandroid backup to get the XIM.apk. I've pushed it into /system/app ->reboot.

But it didnt works... Do you have another Idea?

ok I guess it was the userdata... anyways im booted :)

just installed this rom... Took a really long time in the android loading screen.. now its just a blank screen with "^@" in the top left corner... when I try to reflash it says waiting for device...

To get the qwertz keyboard back you have to extract the xim.apk file from the stock image with "adb pull /system/app/xim.apk" (or find it on the internet somewhere) and install it on your phone with "adb push xim,apk /system/app" and then reboot. If you have a nandroid backup of your phone you can also extract it from the system.img using "unyaffs system.img"

I've seen the azerty xim.apk floating around the net, but I've never seen a qwertz version. Google may help you find one though. :)

I' am from Germany. With the "language picker widget" i can select my language very well. But i have a hardware qwertz keybord. is there any passibility to change qwerty to qwertz? Anytime I will write something I'm getting an "y" by pressing "z".

I think the problem is due to it being a Korean image. There will be problems until a 'Western' image is released - once that happens I'll make a new firmware and SMS should work well. From what I've read, the ETA is early August.

hey SSA, i have no problem with reply and send sms, maybe we have different firmware version, i`m running v10g. i already make dosbox.conf and fill code given by zac above but still getting error, but doesn`t matter thanks zac and SSA

APN is solved now with Anycut. Now I can browsing n download any software from market. Yup..XYFLASH error with message: "The application has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try Again" with FORCE CLOSE button.
Anyway, I have a new issue with your ROM. I can receive SMS from other but can't reply or send SMS. Why?? Thanks before...

For dosbox to work you need to put a dosbox.conf file in /sdcard.
Not sure what's up with yxflash - it doesn't work for me either. :(
